The BB1205 Beam Unit is a practical and durable seating solution designed for waiting rooms, hospitals, retail spaces, educational environments, and other high-traffic areas. Built for reliability and easy maintenance, this flip-up beam seating system offers long-lasting performance, versatile configuration options, and a clean, modern appearance suitable for a wide range of public settings.

Heavy-Duty Steel Frame Construction

Manufactured with a robust welded steel frame, the BB1205 is engineered for strength and stability in demanding commercial environments.
The frame is finished with a durable epoxy powder coating in black or silver as standard, with the option to colour-match to meet specific project requirements. All steelwork is MIG-welded, hot-dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461:1999, and can also be fully dip-coated in black polyethene for a smooth, chip-resistant finish.

Premium Polypropylene Moulded Seats

The flip-up seats are moulded from top-grade block copolymer polypropylene (Borealis BC245MO or approved equivalent).
Each seat offers exceptional colour stability and UV resistance, achieved by incorporating high-quality additives before moulding.
All pigments are heat-stable and approved for polypropylene, and blue colourants are carefully formulated to avoid molecular interaction by using beta pigments instead of alpha pigments.
Seats are available in black, blue, green, red, and white.

Flexible Multi-Seat Configurations

The BB1205 Beam Unit is available as a 2, 3, 4, or 5-seat model as standard.
Larger or bespoke configurations can be manufactured on request to suit individual site requirements.

Precision-Engineered Steel Components

The structure is designed around strong ERW steel sections, including:

Main upstand & support straps: 50 mm × 25 mm × 1.5 mm ERW steel tube
Pivot & stop pins: 10 mm bright drawn steel bar
Main ring stop pin: 12 mm bright drawn steel bar
Support frame for seat ring: 25 mm × 12 mm × 1.5 mm ERW steel tube
Counterbalance weight: 25 mm × 8 mm mild steel flat
Pivot tubes: 20 mm × 20 mm × 1.5 mm ERW steel tube

All components are designed to provide smooth, reliable flip-up operation and long-term structural integrity.

Secure Fixings and Assembly

The seat backs are fixed using A2 stainless steel bolts, washers, and Nyloc nuts.
The seat base attaches to the support ring via four 5 mm large-flange aluminium rivets for a secure, tamper-resistant fit.
